    • Some Native Plants include:

  • NEVER USE PESTICIDES!

  • The environmental benefits will not just be in your backyard, bees can travel 1-6km so they will help increase the diversity of plants all over

  • By introducing the right flowers you will bring in more bees to pollinate this will help your garden thrive which will attract more butterflies and birds

What if I've already planted my garden?

You can help bees survive the summer by:

  • Making a bee sugar shack

    • Drill 4 1/8 inch holes in the lid of a mason jar

    • fill with a mixture of sugar and water

    • place inverted jar on two pieces of wood

  • Making a watering station (bee bath)

    • Make a bee bath (an example is below)

      • Fill a plate or bowl with water, line it with rocks and place on ground level

      • This will make water accessible to bees because they need islands to land on

  • Or building a bee home

    • drill 1/2 inch holes in lumber

    • place a piece of wood on top for weather protection

    • Or: hang hollow sticks from a branch as seen in the picture to the right
